“…And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch” Acts 11:26

Welcome to Antiochian Orthodox Church Of Ireland

The Antiochian Orthodox Church was established in Ireland in 2004. We are part of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of the British Isles and Ireland led by Metropolitan Silouan. The archdiocese was created by the Holy Synod of Antioch on 15th October 2013 and it replaced the Deanery of the United Kingdom and Ireland. We are part of the Patriarchate of Antioch and all the East lead by our Patriarch John X of Antioch.

It is well known that Ireland has a venerable and ancient Christian heritage that stretches back to the fifth century, embracing ascetic monasticism and missionary Christianity and it is our goal to reconnect Ireland to its ancient Orthodox Christian faith. If you would like to know more please feel free to reach out to us.
